Fluid Bed Sand – Edenderry Power Plant, Ireland

IN BRIEF

Edenderry Power Plant is a peat fired condensing power plant, producing 120MW of electricity to the Irish nation.  Edenderry Power utilizes bubbling fluidised bed boiler technology enabling a highly efficient rate of energy conversion.

Edenderry Power has one Maxflo 228/8-5 conveying system to transfer sand from a storage silo into the fluidized bed. Some of the sand is re-circulated and the Maxflo conveying system is used to top up the bed by injecting sand during an outage period. Approximately 100-150 tons are transferred into the fluidized bed.
